This dramatization of LeBron James’ life chronicles how he and his friends overcame the odds to become the nation’s top high school basketball team.
Let me start this Shooting Stars review by saying I’m not a massive basketball fan and prior to watching this I really didn’t know anything about LeBron. I briefly played basketball in High School but I was more of a netball player.
Having said that, this film is still a solid watch and even if you know nothing about the sport, it’s still an interesting watch to see the come up of an iconic athlete.
For me this story is about friendship, loyalty and determination. I’m talking ride or die Mr Frodo and Sam Gamgee style friendships.ç

There are life changing moments in this film which I find fascinating. The decision to go to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and taking a chance on Coach Dambrot instead of Buchtel High School changed the course of history.
Stranger Things fans look out for Caleb McLaughlin playing the mighty Lil Dru!
The PlayStation is featured in this film along with the NBA 2K basketball games that the Fab Four played when they weren’t playing on the court.
I really enjoy spotting video games in movies! There’s one part where a PS controller is handed over the 5th member and they then became the Fab Five. I thought this was sweet.
Have you seen Shooting Stars? What did you think? 🏀
