Let’s be honest, everyone loves a good infographic and an iPhone infographic at that. The people at My Voucher Codes have put this together showing which technology the Apple iPhone killed.
When it comes to the iPhone, there are sides just like Team Edward and Team Jacob from the Twilight series. Those on the Apple camp (myself included) are mesmorized by the beautiful simplicity yet brains of each iPhone release, the newest being the iPhone 6.
Whereas other smartphone users are enjoying a sturdy handset but there’s just something missing. (Quite a few things actually, Facetime, Siri, iTunes, iCloud, Apple Pay to name but a few)

The Edward Cullen of Smartphones
Just like the Edward Cullen, the iPhone 6 is smooth, sculptured, shiny and comes at a dangerous price! (Don’t apple fans know it – it’s hard keeping up sometimes)
In fact the iPhone has killed the need for quite a few gadgets and devices in it’s time: from the PDA to digital cameras and now even physical money thanks to Apple Pay. Yes I’m an Apple fan girl so I’m going to say this but for me, other smartphones just pale in comparison to the iPhone.
My previous phone was a Samsung Ace and it used to make me cry at just how slow it was. Upgrading to the iPhone 5 was a dream for me, plus I no longer had to carry around my digital camera. I’ve yet to purchase the newest, I think I’m going for the iPhone 6 Plus.
Apparently Nintendo saw a drop in sales of their handhelds when the iPhone came on the market. Of course this is bound to happen, with the low price of games in the appstore and the whole idea of just carrying one device with you. I am a Nintendo fan also, because of the high price in gadgets and tech these days, I did invest in a Nintendo 3DS XL, but it took me a few years to add it to my priority list, so I can understand the drop.
Facetime was a big plus for me as I love to speak with family and friends on video chat from wherever I am. Can you imagine setting up a webcam on your PC? It just sounds so 90’s to me.
To quote Mark Pearson from www.myvouchercodes.co.uk:
“We won’t know whether this technology would have become obsolete if it wasn’t for Apple, nor can we state without Apple we wouldn’t have the technology we have now. But one thing is for sure, they have been pioneers in developing and bringing new technologies to the forefront, and some may argue better at marketing it than their competitors.
“Whether you’re an Apple fan or not, there is no denying that the company has had an effect on this generation, how we use technology and even what we now use. Each year they bring out a new phone, always with something, new and innovative on offer.”
Are you an iPhone user?
Do you think it has killed other tech?
