The Cereal Discovery + Day 1 of Fitness Gaming Challenge
Hello September! I know I totally skipped on yesterday’s blog post but I will go back in and add to my archives one I get chance. I appreciate each and every one of you that takes time to read my blog, it’s so nice getting to know you in the comments and emails. 💖 I must also go and have a read of the blogs that I follow, I’ve just not had much time at all lately.
I’m so tired right now and I still have to do my Duolingo, so I’l be quick with my update. We dropped into Ale-Hop earlier and I finally picked up my new agenda, it’s so pretty! I’ll put that in a separate post and hopefully have time to do a flip through video before I start writing in it.
Day 1/30 Fitness Gaming Challenge
This morning I got up bright and early to get started with the first day of the Fitness Gaming Challenge. I wanted to get out early before it got to hot and busy. Back to school isn’t until the 13th here after the big bank holiday weekend and the official end of summer here on the islands.
I was totally going to go back to my walk starting point but I kept going and ended up walking 2,55km. 😆. I’m quite proud of myself for that.
When I finally got home I was READY for breakfast. I usually fill a bowl to the brim with cereal and then cover it with however much almond milk is needed to drown it. 😅
Today though I stopped and thought ‘I wonder how much cereal is actually the recommended portion?’ Google tells me it’s something between 25g-30g which I had no idea of how to measure but apparently it’s a mug full. I continued to measure out a mug full into my bowl and gasped in amazement.
I’d been having TWO and a HALF times that for months, maybe a year? Two years? Could this be one of the reasons for my weight plateau? I know I’m building muscle and all that but if I’m eating far to much cereal it will explain a few things for me, feeling sluggish and so on…..
So I was worried I would be very hungry after reducing my cereal to a normal person’s portion but I wasn’t. What I did do was sit at the dining table instead of my desk and had breakfast with my Mum via videochat which was nice. I’ll let you know if I see any difference after a week or so but it’s bound to make a difference to my digestion at least.

Would it be too nerdy to make a spreadsheet of games I want to play? 😅 I already have notebooks for game review notes but I’m thinking a spreadsheet might help. Maybe doing a colour coded spreadsheet with games to review, and by console or genre.

I’m sick of taking a bag with me on hikes, so I’ve been looking at getting a bumbag or a riñonera as it’s called in Spanish. I also like the mini backpacks that I’ve seen a few people with. I bought a nice turquoise one from Paco Martinez but I’ve been saving it for my holidays.

- I might have to go to Flying Tiger when the spooky stuff is in stock – got some cute Halloween washi tape last year

- I’ve never had a Pumpkin Spice Latte…. (sniff sniff) 😅🎃. Not that I’m bothered because I don’t drink coffee. Some kind of pumpkin spice tea would be nice though. We don’t even have Starbucks here… 😆
- My Pokémon Go catch of the day was a CP 210 Machoke in my house!
