Hello there and welcome to Geek Life April where we look at all things cute and geeky from the month. First of all how quickly did April go? I was sick with some zombie flu (probably covid) for about 3 weeks of it, so I didn’t get up to much.

You know when you’re feeling crappy and even playing video games seem like a chore? That was me. I tried to stream a few times but couldn’t stop coughing. Luckily there was plenty of tv shows to binge watch like Ted Lasso and Fallout!

April was the month when I got my second microblading (microshading) done on my eyebrows. I’ve been really careful to stay out of the sun and wearing my hat religiously during aftercare. I found this hair down with cap hack that is life changing!

At the end of the month we did find a small local comic con to check out and E treated me to a new Funko Pop. One which I will reveal soon and unbox. It’s adorable and one I’ve had my eye on for a while. Speaking of Funko Pops, I did a short Live Geek Vlog unboxing a Funko ‘Plop’ haha, chatted about books, gaming and other nerdy things. If you missed it you can catch it below. I started off making a vlog and then thought, why not do a live vlog and see what happens?

Looking back at the month I made lots of time for gaming! I’m quite happy about this. 😁

  • Dragon Quest XI (Nintendo Switch) I needed space on my PS5 so deleted it and restarted on the Switch. I can tell this game is a full on adventure so I’m taking my time with it, but need an hour or so to reach the point I was on PS5.
  • Fall Guys (PS5) my go to game always!
  • Animal Crossing New Horizons (Nintendo Switch) My poor island is neglected so I’ve been spending a couple of cozy hours here and there in hopes to get it looking pretty again.
  • Fallout 4 (PS5) Right after binge watching Fallout on Prime, I downloaded Fallout 4 from the PS plus library and started playing. But, at the end of April there was a big update with improvements and add ons so I haven’t streamed it yet but stay tuned.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure (iOS) I was gifted 3 months of Apple Arcade from when I got my phone at Christmas and this Hello Kitty game was top of my list to check out. Sadly my iPad is having issues and overheating when trying to play this. It’s adorable but not one I can play and I really don’t like playing on phone screens.
  • Stumble Guys (PS5) being a huge fan of Fall Guys I had to try Stumble Guys. The BETA is now on PlayStation and while it’s limited and the physics are silly, it has promise and gives that new game feeling.
  • Nour: Play With Your Food (PS5) I was in need of something relaxing, a palette cleanser if you will. This game was free in the PS plus library and is probably the artiest game I ever played. It quite literally encourages you to play with food, zap it, burn it, throw it and just be silly.
  • Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (PS5) This was another game free for PS plus subscribers and one that I was looking forward to a lot! I wasn’t disappointed. I first played Klonoa Lunatea’s Veil when I got my PlayStation 2 and was hooked. The Phantasy Reverie remaster is just chef’s kiss. You may have seen me streaming Klonoa on YouTube.

  • Duolingo: Studying Spanish as usual and hitting a 1,261 day streak on the last day of April. I really need to up my Duolingo game in May. Doing lessons from the computer is much better than my phone at 11:45 at night plus I’m running out of blue gems!
  • For May I have a new WordPress course to focus on which should help me improve the website.

We cancelled our Netflix subscription and I received 3 months free of Apple TV+ so there’s a lot of Prime and apple shows in this month’s list:

  • Fallout (Prime) Incredible! I think everyone who’s seen this has had great things to say. Like a lot of others, this series is my introduction to the Fallout video games.
  • Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) I binge watched all of this while sick and it was so good. I was hoping Ted and Rebecca would get together at some point. Roy Kent was my fave from the show, he was hilarious.
  • Loot (Apple TV +) I found this randomly and was so pleased to see Maya Rudolph in this, she is hilarious.
  • The Vampire Diaries Season 1 (Prime) Re-watching an episode or 2 of this daily and wow. I haven’t seen it since the original airing and there’s so much I missed. I remember being Team Damon when I finished my first watch through but Season 1 he is such an ass!
  • Puppy Love (Prime) this is a cute rom com with dogs featuring Lucy Hale (PLL)
  • How To Date Billy Walsh (Prime) Silly and predictable with elements of Mean Girls, I had to watch it!
  • James Bond 007: Octopussy (Movistar+) There is a James Bond channel on Movistar so 007 is on all the time! Nice to put on in the afternoons during siesta.
  • Atlanta (Disney+) Got really into this and then our Disney subscription ran out lol. Watch it if you get the chance, features Donald Glover who I find so naturally funny, this is a quirky show, I can’t really explain it.

  • Duolingo Podcast – I have started listening to the Duolingo Spanish podcast while doing laundry. I just pop my phone in my pocket and it makes chores a bit more interesting.
  • The Ink Spots – I don’t want to set the world on fire (If you have watched Fallout you probably also have that song stuck in your head)

  • The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod: I finally finished this and I think I’ll be picking up the physical copy to easily refer back to. I tried so hard to get my morning routine going that when I stopped trying it just sort of fell into place.
  • Who’s Under My Bed by Atticus Ryder (*free copy provided by Booktasters for review) is a cute and cheeky bedtime book that I wish I’d had as a kid, about the monster under the bed.
  • Ikigai The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life 66% complete: I will finish this soon and start on another of my half read books I promise 😅
