I’ve wanted to write up some of my Game of Thrones theories since watching episode 1 of season 8 three times! Twice in English and once in Spanish to see if I picked anything else up.
UPDATE: I’ve added to this since watching episode 2, exploring some more ideas and predictions.

As you may know I’ve been away from my blog for the past few months, recovering from kidney surgery so I’ve really not felt like blogging until today.
But, seeing as Game of Thrones season 8 is currently airing, the Westeros excitement is in the air and I felt inspired to write up some of mine and my Dad’s theories.
I haven’t read the Game of Thrones books or listened to any GOT podcasts or blogs so these are just mad theories that we have come up with. I used to really enjoy writing Pretty Little Liars theories, so here we go.
My Dad started watching Game of Thrones before me. I was so late to the party, watching the pilot in 2015 and deciding not to watch again because there were snakes in the first episode.
Why did it have to be snakes?
Over time my Dad would tell me on the phone that ‘last night’s episode’ was brilliant and I knew I was missing out. In fact, I gave it another shot just because it would give me and my Dad something to talk about on the phone and he seemed to enjoy it so much.
In August 2017 my Auntie (my Dad’s sister) died after a short but gruelling battle with cancer. I needed time away from creating, so I took a month off for self-care. I signed up for a free month trial of HBO and I binge watched seasons 1-7 of GOT to take my mind off things. This gave me and my Dad something to chat about during a tough time and we could geek out about our theories on the phone.
Spoilers Are Coming
Everything after this is a potential spoiler as I will be mentioning the latest episodes for context. My theories also may end up being correct, so please avert your eyes if you haven’t seen all of the episodes up to date.
Daenerys Knows That Jon is a Targaryen
At the end of season 7, Gilly and Sam discover that Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen are Jon’s real parents. The audience also find out and of course Jon Snow knows nothing. As we enter season 8, Sam finally catches up with Jon in Winterfell and drops the bombshell that Jon is actually Aegon Targaryen Protector of the Seven Kingdoms and all the rest.
Prior to this Jon and Danerys go all Never Ending Story on us by flying the dragons together through Winterfell. Aren’t Targaryen’s the only ones supposed to be able to fly dragons? I’m thinking that Daenerys knows about Jon’s true heritage but what does she have planned?
Littlefinger is Still Alive
One of my Dad’s theories is that Littlefinger is still alive. Despite his live execution led by Arya Stark in season 7, my Dad is convinced Lord Baelish is alive. How on Earth would that be possible?
Well, my Dad thinks that the person Arya killed was wearing Littlefinger’s face. I need to ask him more about this but it makes sense that the time she spent in Braavos and training with the Faceless Men death cult is to make a comeback in the story.
Arya Stark isn’t Arya Stark
This leads onto some other theories of mine that Arya is pulling a Parent Trap or Freaky Friday with someone else, possibly Sansa. I’m not sure on the reasons why but I have this gut feeling that in some scenes we are seeing the true Arya and others she is someone else.
From now on I’m going to be watching carefully who Arya is and is not in the same scene with. Of course there’s no denying that the reunion of her and Jon isn’t the real deal but remember how fooled we were in season 6 when Arya wore Walder Frey’s face? I’m sure something similar is going to happen soon, but why?
I can’t stop thinking about Ned Stark. When he was be-headed, did they burn him too? Could Arya take his face?

This all reminds me of Princess Mombi, the creepy head-switcher from Return to Oz who collects and wears different heads.
Why stop at Arya!? What if Daenerys isn’t Daenerys?
Cersei does a deal with the Night King and becomes Queen of the Dead
Cersei, apparently now with her brother’s child is going to cover up the fact that once again she has had incestuous relations with Jaime Lannister. She will use Euron Greyjoy’s fleeting visit to her quarters to her advantage and he will be announced as the baby daddy.

She was very pleased to hear from Qyburn that the Army of the Dead had made it through the wall so I think this leads to a possible meeting with the Night King for negotiations.
Hell, I think Cersei wants to be Night Queen (thanks Creatively Cat) even if she has to join the undead. Baby Lannister is about to be used as a bargaining chip with the White Walkers or Qyburn is going to do some genetic mutation experiments so that the Lannisters are immune to the undead.
Bran Knows Everything
God knows what the hell Bran (whom I affectionately refer to as Branflake or All-Bran) knows. Since becoming all knowing, he is shunning everyone, probably because he sees the bad they have done and are about to do.
He’s going to tell or whisper something to Jaime, maybe the audience won’t know what, but he will surprise us by not holding a grudge against the Kingslayer.
Jon Snow Can’t Die
“What is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger”.
Let’s chew on that for a moment. Remember when Jon died and Melisandre brought him back from the dead? Since then he’s seemed invincible, Battle of the Bastards and the more recent season 7 White Walker battle spring to mind.
This is going to be a key part of something, but what? Is Jon going to go up against the Night King? Where are the White Walker safe places that Yara Greyjoy mentions in S8 E1? Is Winterfell going to thaw?
I still have so many questions! Tonight I will ask my Dad if he has anymore to add to the post.
Until then, I hope you enjoyed my rambling theories.
UPDATED AFTER WATCHING EPISODE 2
I don’t know about you but my nerves are absolutely shot for episode 3! The story is coming to an end and our fave characters are going to start dropping like flies.
I’ve had a few days to stew over episode 2 and ponder on a few more of my GOT theories.
Dragon Tomatoes?
First up, I must tell you about my Dad’s dragon tomatoes.
My Dad went to the garden centre last week and he got some tomato plants which he’s named after the dragons and I couldn’t stop laughing. He even put little name cards next to each plant and marked how big they were with a pencil. He was especially proud of Viserion in the middle.
I shared it on Twitter but just in case you missed it, here they are:

He was so excited to learn that the people of Twitter were invested in his plants and then he called me earlier today to tell me the storm has destroyed them. When he went outside to check on them it looked like they were clinging on for dear life to the sticks. I hope it’s not an omen of things to come!
Sansa, Arya, Gilly and Cersei are Pregnant
After that cringe love scene between Arya and Gendry, I began to think on more theories. It’s the night before the Battle of Winterfell, everyone is trying to keep warm. Will Arya and Gendry create a Stark / Baratheon bloodline?
Did Sansa and Theon Greyjoy get together? Is it…. is it possible for Theon to do that after Ramsey Bolton tortured him and dismembered him? That would be a Stark / Greyjoy bloodline.
We also have Samwell and Gilly, creating a Tarly / Free Folk bloodline.
Then we have Cersei who I think has lied about being pregnant with Jaime’s child or lost the baby since got pregnant by Euron Greyjoy, hence creating a Lannister / Greyjoy bloodline.
I’m not quite sure how Jon and Dany play into this theory but maybe the Mother of Dragons will hatch some more beasts?
My point being that new bloodlines are being created and this could mean something to the Night King?
The Night King has many Faces
What if, the Night King has been trolling us all from the start? Could one or two of our main characters already be dead and he’s using their face to influence and infiltrate conversations? After all, he has access to plenty of the dead.
There’s also a theory that he’s not going to appear at the Battle of Winterfell, instead going directly to King’s Landing to check in on Cersei while the Army of the Dead do all the work.
My Dad thinks that the Night King wants to make Cersei his Queen. Maybe if he brings some elephants?
This also makes me question the theory I had last week about Littlefinger. Could the Night King have been using his face too?
Let me know in the comments below what is your wildest GOT theory. Which Game of Thrones House do you support? Who would you like to see on the throne?
