Farm For Your Life is a sim building cozy game by Hammer Labs. This cute playstation game has everything you expect from a farming sim, crops to collect and water, fences to fix, villagers to help and even a restaurant to create meals for the locals…. oh and ZOMBIES!

As an Animal Crossing fan I was eager to try this game out. I made sure not to watch any gameplay ahead of playing it for myself, so to catch my genuine thoughts and reactions in the live stream.
Nice Soundtrack
On starting up the game, the music caught my attention. It felt like old town with a lake and population 50 kinds of vibe and I was ready. The menu and options were fairly easy to navigate. I turned the master volume down right away for stream purposes, but the in game SFX of tweeting birds and outdoorsy things will be a lovely addition to your cozy gaming sesh.
Design Your Own Character
The character creation part was a lot of fun and I tried not to spend too much time in there but there were some really good options. There are about 5 skin tones, different hair textures and colours and even an option to be a zombie. The randomizer picked out some really fun characters too.

We started with the tutorial and this was essential to figure out the controls and where to plant crops and such. ‘Grandpa’ helped a lot with the hard work around the farm as we clean up after an apocalyptic storm that brought in zombies. Fellow cozy gamers don’t fret, there’s no blood and gore, just adorable zombie people who can’t get enough of your crops!
Time Management
My ADHD did find some of the tasks repetitive so playing on fast by clicking on R2 was a good option for me. It made my character run around the farm like a headless chicken but also kept me interested. The only thing by speeding the game up was that the night comes round quicker along with crop stealing zombies which can be frustrating if you are rubbish at time management like me.

Farming
Maybe it was just me but I found the farming mechanics a little clunky and unpredictable. I planted potatoes right at Grandpa’s feet by mistake lol. There was also a fence that I kept obtaining and couldn’t seem to place correctly. This could be easily fixed by watching some trophy guides or reading a walkthrough guide.
I streamed for about an hour and didn’t manage to pop any trophies, but pretty sure I was close to the first one. If you enjoy farming and cooking sims with a dash of cute zombie then do try this game out.
