What is Duolingo Adventures?
Duolingo Adventures are mini game scenarios built into the app where you practise Spanish in real life situations, ordering coffee, asking for directions, finding someone’s phone number in a mild panic. They are currently only available on iOS and Android for the Spanish from English course which is why a lot of people end up here looking for walkthroughs. Hi, glad you found me!
Episode 1: The Phone Number
Junior needs to get hold of Lily’s phone number and honestly the whole thing is very relatable. We have all been there Junior. This first episode is short and sweet but it packs in some genuinely useful everyday vocabulary right from the start which I appreciate.
Key phrases from this episode:
Hola, ¿cómo estás? — Hello, how are you?
Estoy bien — I am well
¿Necesitas ayuda? — Do you need help?
¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono? — What is your phone number?
Mi papá tiene un teléfono — My dad has a phone
¿Dónde está mi teléfono? — Where is my phone
Aquà tienes — Here you go
How useful is it for real Spanish?
Really useful! Dónde está is one of those phrases you will use constantly whether you are looking for your phone, the nearest coffee shop or trying to find your dog in the garden. These are the building blocks and I like that Adventures throws you straight in with practical vocabulary rather than spending three weeks on colours and fruit.
