Hello there! I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and ready for the last few days of August, in the words of Taylor Swift “August slipped away into a moment in time”. Honestly this is probably the most exciting time of the year as the temperatures finally start to descend and I have an excuse to buy new pens because STATIONERY SEASON IS HERE! 😅 Call me nerdy but I’m so hyped for cozy blankets and study sessions.
On This Day 2023
Today my husband and I brunched out at a cute Italian cafe, lazily. We had nowhere to be and completely lost track of time. Those are the best kinds of coffee dates. 💖
We have a family event coming up next weekend so I bought some super cute Barbie pink dress trousers from Lefties. I’m not sure how to style them yet, I’m thinking of wearing a super bright contrasting top with them. They don’t need taking up on the hem, which is so rare as I’m petite size in trousers, they were just the right length. Also debating what shoes to wear, if I can clean up my TokiDoki Skechers I might wear those, I don’t do heels and my Birkenstocks didn’t look right in the changing room.
After lunch I spent a few hours blogging and organizing. I’m about to migrate into my new Ale Hop agenda so I was moving appointments and notes across. I have a few things coming up in the next week but I’m going to make time to do some more drawing as I find it very relaxing. Last week I made this Squidward painting and it makes me laugh every time I look at it. 😅
On This Day 2021
I’ve been working on an Instagram collaboration today for work (not for this blog) and once this blog post is done, I’m off to do some laundry. Ah the glam life of a social media manager. I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😍
I’m aware that I’ve not mentioned any new geeky merch on here in a while and that’s because I simply haven’t been buying anything and you know the whole geek minimalism journey. BUT I will be getting my September 2021 – September 2022 Ale-Hop agenda soon so I’d love to do a flip through of that for you at some point.
My video games backlog needs some love, so I may play some LEGO Harry Potter on PS4 in September and see if I can tidy up with a bit of trophy hunting. I want to stream it on YouTube because I’ve missed missed chatting to you all. Regarding reviews and collabs, there are a few in the pipeline, so stay tuned! 😊
Today was day 27 of the August Fitness Gaming Challenge and I battled with Dragaeux!
In other news our roof garden is being painted so I’m excited to see it all once it’s finished. The floors are going to be dark grey and the walls white for now. I had painted (pandemic boredom painting) part of one wall turquoise but I think we will be getting some vertical garden turf to contrast against the white as it can be SO bright.
When I last saw my parents (almost 2 years ago 🙃) we upgraded the roof, added a privacy fence and a small wall for Rambo to have a safe space to chill and trot round. The only thing missing after that was garden furniture and painting which because of being on furlough for over a year, wasn’t possible.
A small potted cactus has appeared on our roof too, possibly a gift from one of the neighbours, I’ll have to find out. 🌵😅

New hair who dis? After spending the whole afternoon at the salon I have been transformed with this long blonde mermaid hair. I went with Elsa from Frozen icy blonde in the front and California highlights on the lengths.

We were up in the mountains today was such a novelty having a bit of rain. ☔️
