Are you feeling a bit meh and looking for a challenge?
I was feeling like that so I decided to make the commitment to 100 Days of Yoga (I nearly wrote Yoda haha).
Ok so now I have to add a Yoda quote:
“You must unlearn what you have learned .”
– Yoda

You can find out more about 100 Days of X Challenges on the official site (they cover everything from coding to language learning and photography) and also throwback to when I wrote about the 100 Days of Fitness Challenge after splitting my pants in public on a walk.
While 100 days of anything can sound overwhelming, I think now more than ever in a time when we face uncertainty with the pandemic, at least we can count on a daily challenge that makes us feel good and is a small portion of our day.
Why Yoga?
Without further ado, why am I doing this Yoga Challenge?
Lately my neck and shoulders have been really tense and migraines pop up triggered by the hot weather. My body is not as strong as it used to be since having 2 major kidney surgeries and my specialist recommended yoga to strengthen up and get my posture back.
Aside from all that, yoga feels good.
Goals
I do need to lose weight but I’m not relying on Yoga to do that, I really want to feel strong and connected to my body. Of course if weight loss comes with it, I won’t complain as my doctor also told me that I need to lose 10 kilos.
Yoga Resources
- Yoga with Adriene – free yoga classes on Youtube
- Ringfit Adventure – Nintendo Switch fitness game that has a selection of Yoga Exercises
In the past I’ve practiced Yoga with Adriene via YouTube. I even did Adriene’s 30 Day Yoga Challenge a few years ago. I enjoy her energy and style. You can check out this Yoga for Beginners playlist or search for specific areas on her channel like yoga for weight loss, or yoga at your desk.
Over the Summer I bought the Ring Fit Adventure game for Nintendo Switch and I’ve used the excuse that it’s been to hot to play. It has some Yoga exercises built in, so I’ll be using those in my daily practice too. I really like how the motion trackers in the joycons can tell you on screen if you are positioned correctly.
Free Yoga Videos
Here I’ll add some of my favourite practices that I think you will find helpful.
Yoga for Text Neck or Tech Neck was the first class I took for this challenge. It was a great place to start for me and I could feel a release afterwards. There were a few crunches and pops along the way but by the time I got to the end I felt very connected with my body.
Let’s do this! Let me know in the comments if you are taking part!
Always check with your doctor before you take on any new physical activity. 💖
