I could probably tell you exactly what I had to eat on Tuesday, but I won’t because it will end in me salivating on my laptop.
Tuesday at 6pm I had a date…. with the dentist. I went into my appointment thinking I was having one wisdom tooth out, but after x-rays and some convincing from the assistant that it would be better to have 2 out on the same side, I thought what the hell.
My dentist listens to jazz as he works, which I think must give him steady hands.
As I lay on the dentist chair and had a frenzied shaking fit, they even covered me in a little ‘blanket’ (it was just some medical paper but it did the job) they also gave me a stress ball and after what felt like 20 injections my mouth started to numb.
All I could think of was Mr Bean. You know that episode where he goes to the dentist and is looking at his own x-ray so he can remove his own teeth?
The first tooth he tackled was the beast on my lower jaw which was growing sideways and had naughtily tipped over the next tooth, hence the extraction. It felt like it took forever to remove and I needed stitches. By the time the upper tooth got attention, the anesthetic began to wear off, more injections and then some odd noises as the dentist began to remove the 2nd tooth. The dentist actually said ‘Come to Daddy’ as he was removing it, which would have had me in hysterical laughter if I hadn’t had fingers and tools in my mouth.
My departed teeth were cleaned and popped into a little pot for me to take home as a souvenir, of course I instagrammed them!

That night as the anesthetic wore off I was in a lot of pain, took some ibuprofen before bed and woke at 3am to use the bathroom, spat out a load of blood and then a wave of dizziness came and I was on the floor. I passed out but my OH was quick to the rescue, it was seconds, he picked me up and I didn’t feel so good, proceeded to drink 2 pints of water and had the sweats.
I was going to visit emergencies as it’s close by, but felt much better after a cold drink and putting my feet up watching the shopping channel. You may remember me moaning about I mean, blogging about my bad stomache and so I had to be careful with the pain medicine as it’s very strong and can irritate the stomache, so Wednesday I tried to go as long as possible without any. It was a bad idea! I was a slobbering mess.
It’s Friday now and I’m able to open my mouth a bit more, enough to get a spoon of baby food in anyway. I’m really crappily trying to keep the other side of my teeth clean, but finding it almost impossible to brush them, hope I don’t get told off on Tuesday when I have my stitches out. I wonder why I couldn’t have dissolving stitches?
I must be feeling a bit better anyway as yesterday I could just about type 3 paragraphs and look at me all the way down the page! Well done if you made it this far! I’m off to have some chocolate pudding and some medicine!
